UTS Press Kit

Hailing from the frozen forests of Northern Minnesota, blue collar rockers "Underground ‘til Sundown" play a blend of fast and loud punk rock and Melodic Hard-Core. Inspired largely by bands such as Hot Water Music, A Wilhelm Scream, Propagandhi, and The Menzingers, each member of the band listens to different genres and bands, which lends to an interesting mix of styles in the music they write. Don't be surprised to hear up-beat punk chords topped with melodic guitar harmonies followed by some thrash metal riffs and classic rock vocal harmonies. Forming around 2005 as a high school band, the UTS lineup has changed several times over the years. The band currently consists of brothers Mitch McCarroll and Brad McCarroll (guitars/vocals), Ryan Juntunen (guitar/bass), and Teddy Dowling (drums/vocals). The band's first full band EP, "A Resurrection of Past Events", was released in 2016 with Kevin McCarroll on drums and Brad McCarroll on bass. In 2018, Kevin decided to step down with Teddy Dowling taking his place on drums and Jimmy McCluskey joining on bass for the recording of the 2021 release of "The Places That We Haven't Gone Yet". After recording, and shortly before the Covid-19 pandemic lockdowns, Jimmy stepped down to further his medical career and Ryan Juntunen took his place on bass, solidifying the current line-up. Their second full length album, "An Orchestrated Chaos" (Recorded by Andy Mathison, formerly of the band "Class of '86", and mastered by Brad Boatright of Audiosiege), with even faster and more technical riffs, was released in early 2024. UTS's unique style of writing, having each member bring forward their own songs and styles vs. sticking to one formula, has led to an overwhelmingly positive reception of "An Orchestrated Chaos" gaining the band air time on several radio stations as well as both podcast and radio interviews. The band is already well into writing their third full length album. With no plans of slowing down, UTS is currently working towards broadening their audience outside of their home state of Minnesota with music that any walk of life can connect with. 

UTS is currently looking forward to working with a record label to promote their current and future releases as well as work with promoters to book shows and festivals outside of their home state.
